This November Atelier by ISEM has kicked off a new edition of the first FashTech innovation forum in Spain. In this first phase, Atelier launches a call for startups with innovative approach and disruptive technology, who want to offer their services to large companies in the retail sector, helping them to be more profitable, sustainable and / or better customer oriented.
The projects submitted must have at least one beta version and offer a clear solution to a market problem. All technology companies wishing to participate must submit their application before December 20, 2022, through the form found on the website atelierbyisem.es.
On January 15, 2023, the forum will confirm the 10 selected startups that will participate and present their projects at Fashion Innovation Day 2023, which will take place in February at ISEM Fashion Business School (Madrid).
Gustavo Pego, innovation director at Atelier, explains some of the needs that large companies are demanding more: "New materials, raw materials and manufacturing and control technologies that enable micro-manufacturing and respect for the environment; artificial intelligence aimed at optimizing the use of resources, demand prediction and customer fit...".
In this new edition, Atelier incorporates new players in the fashion sector, in addition to those who have participated in previous editions. Thus, this year Bimba & Lola and Brownie have joined the advocate companies of previous editions - Desigual, Mayoral, El Corte Inglés, T2T Solutions, Multiópticas, Camper, Boboli, Stradivarius, Tendam, El Ganso and Ternúa.
All of them confirm its commitment and interest in being close to the origin of innovation, coming from business initiatives born in scientific and technological environments and innovation ecosystems as relevant as the one in Israel, in which Atelier has a special focus.
In this 2023 edition, sustainability will play a particularly important role because, "although the concept of sustainability seems to be already present in everyday life, experts believe that there is still a long way to go in incorporating it into the different links of the value chain, including that the customer himself is willing to integrate it into his purchasing behavior and the price of products," concludes Pego.
To carry out this forum, ISEM has the partnership of Innovation Factory, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Navarra. Thanks to it, it is possible for Atelier to offer a multidisciplinary vision, making available to all participating companies the R&D capabilities, talent and knowledge available in the different departments of the University of Navarra.
