I was both nervous and curious about what I would encounter on my first day. At first, there were many unfamiliar faces, though it was also comforting to run into former classmates from the University of Navarra. After a guided tour of the new graduate campus and a welcome from the campus director,Ángel Montoro, and the director of ISEM,Teresa Sádaba, we were in for a big surprise. One of Spain’s most iconic fashion designers,Lorenzo Caprile, gave a lecture that none of us in the class will ever forget.

We’ve kicked off the master’s program with some real highlights: courses like“Operations”with Philip Mocoso (IESE Business School), in which, as he says, “you have to put on your glasses” to understand how a company’s various activities work.
There’s also José Luis Illueca (IESE), who teaches our class onBusiness Situation Analysis. With him, we put ourselves in the shoes of executives and consultants to make well-reasoned decisions on important issues within different companies.
One of the biggest challenges for almost all of us enrolled in the master’s program is being able to manage, understand, and interpret—without getting overwhelmed in the process—theaccounting conceptspresented to us in the various scenarios we’ve been studying under the guidance of Vicente Bermejo and Javier Arellano.
Courses That Inspire Dreams
But there are also classes where we dream of traveling back in time. Like “History of Fashion and Clothing,” taught by the expert and historian Amalia Descalzo. One of our favorites is Marketing. Pedro Mir teaches us the true value of brands, their “brutal honest truth,” and the target audience.

One of the cornerstones of the ISEM Executive Fashion MBA program is teamwork. Every Friday, we meet an hour before class to discuss the case studies. This allows us to learn from each other’s knowledge and experience. It also facilitates the subsequent class discussion.
That's all for now. But I want to emphasize that "for now," since the Executive Master's in Fashion Business Management is becoming increasingly demanding, and we'll be starting the recruitment process very soon. The first one we'll be facing isLoewe's, on November 5.
See you next month,
May López-Bleda, a student in the Executive Master's Program in Fashion Business Management (MEDEM) and an entrepreneur withDenim Souls.
