Fashion in the digital environment
Experts from Parsons and Bocconi and professionals from Cortefiel, DELPOZO, Privalia and Bestseller, among others, will discuss communication, culture and business at the IX International Fashion Congress.
The IX International Fashion Congress "Fashion in the digital environment: communication, culture and business" will be held on March 12 and 13 at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Navarra. The congress, organized by the Faculty of Communication and the ISEM Fashion Business School of the University of Navarra, aims to provide a space for multidisciplinary reflection on the changes and new proposals that are occurring in the fashion industry. The emergence of new technologies has changed the way of transmission and distribution of content and products at the same time that have made possible global marketing strategies. Social networks have also become decisive agents in this sector.
The Fashion Congress proposes to analyze the nature, features and emerging values based on communication, culture and business, main topics that will be discussed and that condition the decisions of fashion brands with a great influence on the social imaginary. The event will start on March 12 at 16h. with the opening and presentation by Tomás Gómez-Acebo (Vice Rector of students), Fermín Alonso (Councillor for Education and Culture of the City of Pamplona) and Teresa Sábada (Director of ISEM Fashion Business School).
Three conferences and three round tables with professionals from the sector will be held during the two-day congress. Luis Lara, professor at ISEM Fashion Business School, will open the series of conferences with the future of retail and the new multichannel model. Tom Handley, professor at Parsons The New School for Design, will talk about social networks in the fashion industry. Davide Reina, Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management, will also discuss the new digital environment in the sector.
At the round tables Miguel Giribet(Privalia), Andrés Contreras(Bestseller) and Patricia Benito(Grupo Cortefiel) will offer their vision of fashion e-commerce. Another topic to be discussed will be museums as spaces for fashion with Miguel López-Remiro(Museo Universidad de Navarra), Guillermo de Osma(Galería Guillermo de Osma) and Valentin Vallhonrat. The congress will close with a discussion on communication agencies at the service of fashion brands with Paco Caro(Equipo Singular), Samary Fernández(Unidad Editorial) and Antonio Gallo(DOG Social Intelligence). During the congress there will also be an exhibition of the work carried out in the fashion drawing workshop given by María Villanueva Fernández for students of the University of Navarra.
