Teresa Sádaba, dean of ISEM Fashion Business School, and Isabel Cantista, visiting professor at ISEM, edit the book "Understanding Luxury Fashion. From Emotions to Brand Building" published by Palgrave Macmillan. From a philosophical perspective, the authors of the different chapters reflect on one main idea: human beings need luxury.
From this framework, the book delves into two specific dimensions: emotions and society. In addition, it concludes with several cases of brand creation and development to illustrate these two dimensions. It also includes a comparative analysis between countries, with special emphasis on China.
Throughout the chapters, issues such as continued market growth and significant changes in the luxury sector, mainly caused by rapid international expansion and the increasing importance given by firms to sustainability and ethics, are discussed.
