ISEM Fashion Business School organized an online training day for fashion entrepreneurs with Kelly Talamas, Clarissa Egaña and David Luquin led by Leonor Silva. The objective of this day was to give a preview of everything that can be learned in the intensive course "Fashion Entrepreneurship 101: Building a Successful Brand" that ISEM holds in Miami from October 18 to 29.
The day began with the session "The 7 keys to successful fashion startups" by David Luquin, professor at ISEM and director of the Entrepreneurship Unit at the University of Navarra. Luquin reviewed the concepts that any fashion entrepreneur should take into account when it comes to minimizing the risks involved in starting a business.

The second session featured the testimony of Clarissa Egaña, founder of the Venezuelan brand Port de Bras, who gave a first-hand account of her experience as a fashion entrepreneur. Clarissa talked about both her successes and mistakes to show attendees what it is like to start a fashion brand and emphasized the importance of achieving a balance between direct to consumer (DTC) and wholesale. Port de Bras is the only Venezuelan brand currently sold at the well-known Saks Fifth Avenue Department Store.
The day ended with a conversation between Leonor Silva, Director of International Relations at ISEM and Kelly Talamas, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Mexico & LATAM, who currently combines her facet as a fashion consultant with the launch of her platform Latinness. During the interview, Kelly talked about the editorial world and how to get media attention when you are a fashion entrepreneur. She also advised attendees on how to make a good PR strategy when you are an entrepreneur and pointed out the importance of brand DNA.
