ISEM Fashion Business School presents the exhibition "The Cooperative of Spanish Haute Couture", an exhibition that includes pieces of "The Big Five" creators of the twentieth century in Spain, as well as a design by Elio Berhanyer and a Balenciaga, all belonging to the Lopez-Trabado Collection.
Created by Pedro Rodríguez in 1940, the Cooperativa de la Alta Costura Española aimed to show the changes and trends imposed by fashion in those decades. Among all the creators of the twentieth century, Santa Eulalia, El Dique Flotante, Asunción Bastida and Manuel Pertegaz, along with Pedro Rodríguez himself, stood out for their high quality, novelty and wider dissemination. The exhibition includes a piece by each of these couturiers.
About twenty professionals from the sector and related to multi-brand stores attended the session.
In addition, given their recognition as key figures in the rise of Spanish Haute Couture, the exhibition also features a dress signed by Cristóbal Balenciaga and another piece designed by Elio Berhanyer.
The exhibition can be visited until March 28th from 9:00h to 20:00h at ISEM Fashion Business School (C/Marquesado de Santa Marta, 3).
The López- Trabado Collection
The López-Trabado Collection brings together more than 500 pieces that narrate the journey of Spanish couture from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present. Among its treasures, you can find creations signed by Spanish designers of the stature of Balenciaga, Carmen Mir, Elio Berhanyer, Jesús del Pozo or Josep Font, among others.
In addition, the Collection has an extensive documentary and graphic collection for the study and dissemination of Spanish Haute Couture, which includes everything from photographs and fashion magazines of the period to invitations to fashion shows and invoices from couture houses.
ISEM Fashion Business School launches this initiative as part of its teaching activity and its mission to promote and encourage the knowledge and internationalization of Spanish fashion in its most varied cultural and social manifestations.
