"The idea of this plan is to introduce our students to a practical case, taking them to meet a leading company in the fashion industry to see firsthand how ethical values and compliance are lived in the world of fashion, "explained Santiago Martinez, professor of the subject, who accompanied the students with the teacher of Sustainability, Silvia Perez Bou.
Upon arrival, Nuria Mayoral, Tendam's Corporate Press Manager, welcomed the students. The visit began with a session by Amparo Ten, Compliance Manager, where she explained the company's guiding principles, highlighting how values and ethics are fundamental to its operations. A significant example she shared was how, during the pandemic, Tendam continued to pay its suppliers for the company's commitment to its business partners, prioritizing integrity over profit.
After the presentation, Amparo answered several questions from students and teachers. The next stop was the tour of the company's facilities, where the students were able to see up close the pilot stores - Cortefiel, Springfield and Women's Secret - and the design studio, where the moodboards and images that inspire the collections were shown; in order to better understand the function of each part within the company's strategy.
Lesson learned! As one of the students reflected in her Linkedin after the visit: "Ethics and values, being a fundamental part of the company's environment, must be known and reflected in every action and decision of each employee. So that it can be seen from fashion facts that advocate for a better society".
