María del Mar Araluce, director of ISSA School of Management Assistants at the University of Navarra since 2000, has been appointed manager of the Instituto Superior de Empresa y Moda (ISEM). 

Born in San Sebastian and a law graduate from the University of Santiago, she holds a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Navarra. She was awarded the prize for the best doctoral thesis on quality issues by the Quality Management Club and holds a Diploma in General Management from IESE Business School.

She joined ISSA in 1996, where she worked as manager, until she was appointed director in 2000. Previously, she had worked for 9 years in the Clinic's Dietary Service, and as a lecturer in the Human Nutrition and Dietetics studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

During her time as director, the studies taught at ISSA were adapted to the EHEA (degree in Management Assistance), going from three to four years in length. In addition, during these years, ISSA has made progress in internationalization programs in collaboration with numerous European and American university institutions.

ISEM Fashion Business School

The ISEM Fashion Business School, founded and chaired by Covadonga O'Shea, was established as a new center of the University last May. The relationship between ISEM, which is based in Madrid, and the University has been very close for years: professors from different faculties of the University, especially from IESE, teach in the Executive MBA in Fashion Business program. María del Mar Araluce has collaborated in the whole process of integrating the Institute.
