The Swedish capital became a meeting point for academic thinking in fashion and communication with the celebration of FACTUM25: Fashion Communication - Between Tradition and Future Digital Developments, an international congress that brought together researchers, teachers and professionals from around the world. Organized by the Department of Fashion Studies at Stockholm University, the event took place at the iconic Filmhuset, one of the city's most prominent cultural centers.

Since its inception, FACTUM has set out to consolidate fashion communication as a legitimate, dynamic and interdisciplinary academic field. This fourth edition reaffirmed that commitment, focusing on key issues such as sustainability, the impact of digital developments and the role of communication in the transformation of social values and consumer habits.
The conference kicked off with an address by Paula von Wachenfeldt, professor at Stockholm University and chair of the organizing committee, who spoke about the luxury handbag as a cultural symbol. Throughout the three days, the program offered presentations, panels and debates on key themes such as the body, design, education, heritage and technology. Also of note were the interventions of Patrizia Calefato (Università di Bari Aldo Moro) and Lorenzo Cantoni (Università della Svizzera italiana), who provided new perspectives on fashion and digital culture.
On behalf of ISEM, Teresa Sádaba, Rocío Elizaga and Marta Torregrosa participated. The first one moderated two academic sessions and participated in the closing of the congress together with Lorenzo Cantoni. Rocío Elizaga presented a research on strategic communication in children's fashion and moderated one of the emerging sessions; and Marta Torregrosa was part of the team that presented one of the outstanding works of the congress, a study on the phenomenon of co-branding in fashion brands.
The congress ended with the presentation of the most outstanding research papers, including a study on the use of video podcasting in brands such as Chanel and Nude Project, and another on the limitations of sentiment analysis tools in the fashion industry.
At the closing ceremony, Sádaba and Cantoni stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen this space as a global reference platform for academic and professional dialogue on fashion and communication.
